"Papa G - No Stress" - Jacmel Haiti

Papa G - No Stress is a well known hip hop artist. I invited him to come to our set for a portrait a day after meeting him at the port of Jacmel where he and other musicians and painters were hanging out. The main art school had been destroyed so there was a longing among the creaitves to speak of the tragedy thru their art yet many didnt have the money to buy new canvases or brushes or paint.

Papa G stood in front of my camera for nearly 45 minutes performing his latest song with a large group of neighbors lingering in the dark, singing backup to his lyric filled music about the tragedy..."No more earthquake, No more earthquake, No more earthquake" he uttered in a soft impassioned voice.
